DESIGN TRENDS FOR 2016
Every year new trends take over the interior design industry, and these impact the products we design and source for our new collections, as we want you to trust that you can come to Endon Lighting to find on-trend, stylish & popular lights for your home.
Below we've collated a list of the design trends that are decorating homes this 2016/17 to give you some lighting inspiration. Whatever your style... We have something for you.
Bronze, gold, brass, rose gold & copper finishes are very popular in the interior design industry right now, especially in the home. High in quality and very stylish, think brushed satin gold adding a warm feel to your lounge (as pictured).
Marble is a favourite in the design industry right now, with the marble look being used across lighting, homewares and even bedding. Luckily, you don’t need to go big in budget or design; small touches of marble are what this trend is about; homeware items such as clocks (as pictured), coasters, candleholders and photo frames. One or two items will add luxury in a subtle but big way.
This year is all about the statement mirror in your home. Make your mirror one of the focal points in any living space with an eye-catching feature on your wall. Our 2016/17 collection features a range for you to choose from (as pictured).
Matte is on trend not only in the fashion industry but in the design industry too, with the finish being used in the home. The smooth matte finish gives pendants subtle sophistication, and looks especially decorative hung in twos or threes over dining tables (as pictured), breakfast bars or kitchen islands, the contrast complementing the wooden surface below. Within our new range we have many pendants with an on-trend matte finish to choose from.
The relaxed nature of this era is currently inspiring the design industry. Think bold colours and prints and the use of dark materials and surfaces to contrast the colour scheme typical of the furnishings alluding this era. This trend is easy to create, and it doesn’t have to be done on a large scale. One or two 70s features in a room will nod to the trend, like the bold, gloss opal pendants (as pictured).
Vintage is a trend that is yet to disappear, with filament lamps still seen decorating cafes and restaurants and industrial-style pendants ever popular in the home. Showcase the trend in your home by making a feature out of your vintage furnishing by grouping it like we have with the Carr pendant.
Vintage doesn’t just have to be achieved with these fixings and furnishings such as tiered china cake stands and decadent tea set. Give the trend a modern edge and create a feature wall by placing an assortment of vintage clocks or different sized mirrors, bringing your wall to life
Materials such as stone, concrete and wood are being introduced to interiors this year, being formed into pieces of furniture or lighting, or the texture being used to finish a piece. The material is used to create classic, timeless looks with a modern feel.
Furnishings evocative of the industrial era look particularly effective in kitchens, dining rooms and open plan spaces. Industrial pieces showcase the marrying of functional and beautifully chic; the pure form and understated design are what makes this trend so attractive, and popular. Complement your chosen fitting and use with decorative filament lamps.
